On a recent visit to Barcelona from the US, my wife and I discovered a quaint art and artisanal wood craft shop in the charming Gràcia neighborhood. We loved walking the neighborhood because you really get the feel of the local vibe. We met Esther and her husband Javier Úbeda who is a local artist. You can find many unique handmade kitchenware, tables and decorative items displayed throughout their small storefront, but what caught our attention that afternoon was the unique one of a kind artwork created by Javier. Esther and Javier took the time explaining the inspiration behind each piece, the wood that was used and why making our visit memorable. We later found out the one art piece we did acquired was featured in a story about the local artist Javier Úbeda on Barcelona TV. Truly one of a kind and well worth visiting Hachazuela when you are in the neighborhood.

It is a true gem in Gracia. I haven't found another place like this anywhere in Barcelona. Each piece they have is special and has its own soul. There is an obvious love for what they do 🤍 and Ester is the most loving.

An artisan shop to drop in from time to time, they always have beautiful and original products made from natural woods and alabaster. I have bought some around the house and given them as gifts many times (the alabaster candle holders are a fantastic Christmas detail!)You can see the craft and the love for wood. And they make it for you! We have ordered a long shelf for the kitchen which has been spectacular.And, besides, they are charming 😃
I have known the shop for years, there are few handicrafts left with their own manufacture. It's well worth indulging. Ester is very friendly and gives a lot of good advice and help. Very grateful!!

The owners were the nicest people. They have beautiful items all handmade. They even packaged it in a way for them not to break in the suitcase while bringing it back to the United States. They even ship internationally!
Over 20 years ago, I bought an alabaster lamp in Barcelona.Without knowing it at the time, it became one of my favorite things. The natural shape (egg) & evocative light shining through the stone made it so. Since then I have tried to find another all these years through my travels but without success, that is not until I found it at Hachazuela! The store is gem & the owners are wonderful people. I love the honesty of the materials and the genuineness of the owners. Their products are made from alabaster or olive wood. That is it! All made by hand with care and skill. It made my trip!
